Development of flight control systems that realize safe, secure and efficient logistics services
Participants | NEC Corporation/NTT DATA Corporation/NTT DOCOMO, INC./Rakuten, Inc./ |

Overview | ObjectiveThe objective is to realize the system to manage safe, secure and efficient flying of a large amount of unmanned aerial vehicles. ・Share the flying zone of unmanned aerial vehicles under the environment beyond visual line of sight, and secure their mutual security ・Utilize finite resources such as airspace and radio wave ・Realize the energy-efficiency society with the use of services including logistics by unmanned aerial vehicles
Outline・Design the architecture comprised of three layers of integrated flight control sub-system, flight control sub-system and drone operator. (Integrated flight control sub-system plays the role to assign airspace to flight control sub-system as an official position, and accept or reject flight plans submitted by operators. Flight control sub-system plays the role to provide information for enabling safe and secure flight with operators' drones, help make flight channels, and apply flight plans for integrated flight control system.)
Integrated flight control sub-system is taken charge of by: NEC Corporation/Hitachi, Ltd./NTT DATA Corporation Flight control sub-system is taken charge of by: NTT DOCOMO, INC./Rakuten, Inc.
In FY2017: Decide the management plan and funcitional division of each sub-system, and design the sub-systems In FY2018: Implement the trial system. Conduct an integrated connection test in the Fukushima RTF in February. In FY2019: Conduct an integration test of the trial system and other consortium systems, and a flying test over about 13km between Minami-Soma City and Namie Town
