R&D Activities

R&D of small, low-power-consumption receivers and antennas compatible with quasi-zenith satellite systems

Participants Magellan Systems Japan, Inc
Contract Type Subsidy
Overview

Objective

・ Target values for miniaturization of receivers and antennas
Receiver board size/weight/power consumption: 12.5cm2/0.5 kg/2W or less
Antenna size: 5.9cm×5.9cm×3.3cm or less

・ Objective performance is shown in the table below.

Outline

・ Responses will develop a high-precision multi-frequency multi GNSS receiver for quasi-zenith digitals with low cost, low weight and low power consumption. We will develop a high-precision multi-frequency multi GNSS receiver for quasi-zenith satellites, which has developed an ASIC high-precision multi-frequency receiver for quasi-zenith satellites. In addition, the antenna is made smaller and lighter.

・ The receiver and antenna will be mounted on a small unmanned aircraft, collision avoidance technology will be developed by cooperative SAA, and the flight test will be carried out in the robot test field of Fukushima Prefecture, etc.

Relevant Achievement

・ Business for promotion of R&D to build bridges for small and medium enterprises (FY2015-2016)
"Development next-generation high-precision multi-frequency GNSS receivers compatible with QZSS"

・Project for an energy saving society using robots and drones (FY2017-2019)
"R&D of receivers supporting quasi-zenith satellites for sharing accurate location information"
