Objective

The objective is to solve social problems, develop new industrial achievements and ensure Japanese companies’ advantage in the foreign markets with the help of unmanned aircrafts. For the purpose, it is desirable to build a system to make the most of unmanned aircrafts in cooperation with the world. Taking it into consideration, it is necessary to actively participate in the place to discuss international rules, grasp international trends, and reflect Japan’s R&D efforts and trends on international discussion in order to exert our industrial advantage.

As a part of the efforts, we have been surveying international trends including those of international organizations and various groups in other countries which promote the standardization, disseminating this project’s ongoing progress to the world, and strengthening international linkages so that we can link the project’s achievements to the international standardization in the future.

Outline

・Grasp of the international discussion

Research international trends including those of other countries and groups related to unmanned aircrafts with the use of documents and interviews.

・Construction of the system to reflect international opinions on this project

Share the results of the research (1) with the people concerned in the project, and manage the portal site to exchange opinions for promoting R&D and technological information among them.

・Dissemination of this project’s ongoing discussion or achievements to the world

Disseminate this project’s ongoing discussion in international places for discussion, foreign or domestic exhibitions, and manage the website to disseminate this project’s information.

・Continuous consideration of measures even after the end of this project

Make measures for international standardization towards this project’s mid-term evaluation (to be conducted in FY2019) in mind.

Duration

FY2017 - FY2021　(5 years)

・Shared the international trends of the utilization or technology of unmanned aircrafts and intellectual trends in the U.S. or China among the people concerned in the project in FY2017.

・Held a seminar of this project, and broadly disseminated the overview of the project and the R&D content of each institution at Japan Drone 2018 in March, 2018.

・Constructed the portal site to disseminate this project’s ongoing progress.
